analysing band images.

it is done in neon colouring and appears quite cartoon like appealing to the younger generation that like the genre of music but it isn't to childish and is in a modern style which also appears to the slightly older. The title is sparkly and bright which stands out and catches your eye. it is set out with the artitst towards one side of the CD cover and the title to the other, this is a good use of layout as both the artist and the bold writing stand out. the colour scheme all fits together and her hair colour is complimented nicely and her face glows and is clearly shown on the black background, with explosions of colour in the heading and the bottom left corner of the album cover.

This front cover album is light and blends into the colour of her hair and clothing, it makes her hair look shiny and helps the elegant and feminine writing stand bold on the album cover, also the light background stands makes her eyes stand out and adds that flirt affect on the front. its layout is done well with britney taking up most of the album cover but yet the title doesn't cover her up but still stands out with the black writing which is interesting and fits in with her wavy hair as the writing has flicks and curves and yet in its own way is bold and stands out with its quite thick straight lines.

This cover is quite bold and loud with the black and white background picture of Pixie Lott, her dark top makes the white sub title stand out, and also the bright pink of her title catches the eyes of the audience, her rather unique pose holding her chain above her head has an effect of catching the viewer with a rather bold pose, also her eyes stand out bright and all the colouring is schemed well and the layout is set out with the bold writing not covering up her face.

quite a lot of people like to read magazines and buy them most times or always.

most people thought £3.99 - £4. 99 was to much to pay for a music magazine.

appealing front cover and contents was found to be most important in a magazine closely followed by the artist chosen on the front.

most people thought that if their where other contents in mucus magazine such as fashion it would be more appealing to them.

there are quite a variety of musics that people like to listen to and read about but pop and dance where the main that people enjoyed, this means that the genre pop that i have chosen is a good choice as it would sell well to a variety of people.

College was found to be the most that buy music magazines followed by people in school and work but this could also be because the most amount of people asked in my questionnaire were college students.

Feedback 9.2.11

Sarah, you have made very little progress in this last week. I can find no evidence that you are working on this outside lesson time and the work completed in lessons seems to be minimal. Your research and planning should be complete by the end of this week and next week you should be starting writing the article and taking photos. You will now be moved to stage 2. Please see me if you need hlp to complete these tasks.

unique Selling Point.

most of the pop magazine covers i have seen don't appeal to the older teenagers, and also they look very girly, i think that for my unique selling point i will make my magazine appeal to more ages and both males and females as i don't think they are many pop genre magazines that do this.

main conventions.

The main conventions that are frequently used within magazines are;
Bold, colourful and up to date titles that catch the buyers attention.
Clear and eye catching words.
Images relevant to the magazine, made clear and large.
bright colours and eye catching schemes throughout the magazine.
Double sided pages should have the main story on or should cover two artists, only popular artist get a double page spread.
when writing about an artist, clear pictures of them are usually shown.
barcodes and prices.
contents page including information and listings.
certain sections highlighted to attract attention to that information.

The title of this is bold and up to date, its very stylish and colourful that would attract customers. Also it has subheadings and other writing around the page, that links in with the title colour, that makes it look part of the same page and very professional with the colour scheme subtle but effective. nothing on this front cover over rules anything else making it all stand out as a whole and look very elegant with good use of the layout. i like the way they have used picture logos as bullet points which also link with the colour scheme as well as adding extra splashes of the colour orange around the page.

initial ideas.

my initial ideas for my magazine is the pop genre, this is because it is quite a common genre an therefore will appeal to many people, pop magazines are common and there for i will be able to get my inspiration easily, but i need to make sure that i do something different in my magazine to make it unique and stand out from the other pop magazines, to give it its unique selling point.
